Nylon Backpacks

One of Prada’s biggest impacts came with their 1984 nylon bags. This was a break from the traditional leather that was the brand’s and the industry’s standard. Nylon, typically known to be used in utilitarian items, made these bags a symbol of Prada’s innovation and reinvention.

Ugly Chic

The collection introduced the concept of “ugly chic.” It matched colors and shapes that broke from the norm and discovered the charm in it. This collection opened the door for other brands to experiment and come out with their own eccentric collections.

Miumiu

MiuMiu is the younger sister brand to Prada. Founded and directed by Miuccia, the brand is targeted toward a younger audience. It is more affordable than its sister company and has played a part in reviving Y2K and 90s trends.
